VR schools have welcomed several guest speakers to school to share their journey, their experiences and/or their knowledge.
In the Swedish national curriculum, our most important tasks are outlined in Chapter 1.
Objectivity and open approaches
The school should be open to different ideas and encourage their expression. It should emphasize the importance of forming personal standpoints and provide opportunities for doing this.
Fundamental values
The task of the school is to encourage all pupils to discover their own uniqueness as individuals and thereby be able to participate in the life of society
In Chapter 2, the goals and guidelines of who is responsible for what is specified. For example:
All who work in the school should
• Act to enrich the school as a learning environment by establishing contacts not only with working, cultural and organisational life, but also with other activities outside the school.
One of the ways, we meet these expectations is by seeking, encouraging and following-up on guest lecturers at each of our schools.

In the past two weeks, VR schools have welcomed many guest speakers to school to share their journey, their experiences and/or their knowledge. Here are examples of just a few:
Dina och Jovan Rajs, Holocaust survivors, visited students at VRS Djursholm.
Martin Sjöberg visited VRGD to share his experiences with addiction and talk about self-care.
Henrik Frohm, vd Mgruppen, worked with business students at VRG Djursholm for an entire day to both share his experience and knowledge, but to also give them feedback on their ideas.
Manne Forsberg, author and influencer, participated in VRGD’s Spirit of Love Week talking about sex, relations, norms and pornography.
Malin B Eriksson, Sveriges första intimitetskoordinator, worked actviely in a workshop with VRG Jarlaplan’s theatre group.
Jonas Sjöstedt (Swedish Left Party Leader) and Ulf Kristianson (Swedish Moderate Party Leader) were keynote speakers at VRG Odenplan’s Student Union annual meeting.
Lin Kowalska och Torbjörn Detter visited VRG Sundbyberg to talk about start-ups and real-life applications of the theories they are studying.
Of course, we take our students on study trips and challenge them with real-world tasks outside the school. But equally as important, we bring in outside competence to work together with our students and teachers to ensure real and relevant conversations about what has happened, is happening and, maybe even more important, what is going to happen in their lifetimes.
